How We Started

The partners of Dwell Capital have a long history of real estate investing and business ownership that have led to a culture of growth and collaboration in our network of investors. 

We currently own and manage $40m+ across 365+ units of multi-family real estate and are continuing to grow our portfolio + development projects with properties in Rochester, MN; Austin, MN; Boone, IA; and the Twin Cities Metro. 

Dwell Realty Group is an independently owned brokerage in Rochester, MN with a team of 36 agents that does over 300 transactions in the Rochester area that is owned by two of the principals in this deal, Jon Ryan (Principal Broker) and Cordie Walker.

Meet The Team

Jon Ryan
Principal Broker/Owner of Dwell Realty Group, Experienced Investor, and Private Business Owner

Currently, Jon is the owner or co-owner of 385+ rental units and four commercial office buildings while also successfully flipping over 45 properties in the last five years.

In 2016, Jon started Dwell Realty Group from the ground up. Dwell Realty Group consists of 36 real estate agents working under Jon’s leadership, executing 300+ annual transactions of residential and commercial property. Dwell has quickly escalated to compete with the global real estate franchises in the area and holds a top-five position in local market share.

Jon is also the owner of a growing construction business, the Home Collective, which does over $6.5m in sales + installation of flooring, countertops, and cabinets with a team of 40+ full-time employees/subcontractors. The construction business provides incredible vertical integration with his real estate companies.

Jon has a strong background in finance and economics. Before real estate, he worked as a financial analyst for IBM. In his role, he did pricing on multi-million dollar contracts and analysis on the profitability of those deals.

Alex Brainard
Owner of Dwell Property Management

Alex has been involved in real estate investing for 10+ years in a variety of residential and multi-family properties. He currently owns 400+ units in the Rochester, MN area and is constantly growing his personal portfolio of properties along with the syndication model.

He started Dwell Management in 2017 to meet the demand of investors looking for a higher quality of service and communication. Alex has expanded to over 750 units in Southeast Minnesota with 100 different owners and has a staff of 21 at Dwell Management. He has solid experience with HUD and HAP housing management.

He’s built a strong systems-focused operation that has received great reviews from both owners and tenants while growing quickly. Through managing real estate with so many different owners and expectations, he is familiar with what it takes to make various types of real estate profitable.

Cordie Walker
Business Owner and Experienced Investor

Cordie is also a co-owner of 380+ multi-family units and 45,000 sq. ft. of industrial and office spaces, walking through the entire purchase, renovation, and management experience.

Cordie owns a marketing agency (HIT Agency) with a team of eight full-time employees that serve a variety of companies locally and internationally since 2011. They have generated millions of dollars in sales for brands they work with effectively.

Utilizing the skillset in marketing, Cordie and Jon partnered on a construction company called the Home Collective. The Home Collective started from scratch in 2017 and now generates $6.5m in annual revenue and employs over 40 full-time employees.

Cordie has a degree in accounting & finance. This background nicely fits him into a crucial role in accounting, bookkeeping, underwriting, and more for Dwell Capital.

Chad Luedke
Business Owner and Experienced Investor

Chad is an experienced realtor and real estate investor. Chad has been buying and selling residential and commercial properties throughout southwest and central Minnesota for the past 15 years. He has a personal portfolio of 25 units located around Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. In addition, he owns a 20-acre seasonal storage facility and is owner/co-owner of 400+ multi-family units.

Chad is experienced in the construction trades both through his previous work as an ironworker and through general contracting of his own projects. Chad started and sold his own tooling fabrication company. One of his greatest skillsets is his depth in knowledge of world economics, including the US stock market and blockchain technology.

He plays a pivotal role in acquiring, maintaining, and closing on projects. His attention to detail and ability to connect with project stakeholders has been paramount during the various phases of a project.

Last Deal Highlight

Jon was recently part of a GP team that successfully bought, renovated, and sold 41 units in downtown Rochester. They purchased the property for $3.239 mil and sold for $5.125 mil after investing $441,000 into renovating 29 units.

This provided their group of LP investors a 1.81x multiplier on their money within just three years (2018-2021).
